Some of our hand raised big brown and eastern red bats getting some much needed exercise in our outdoor flight enclosure. We have a few adult and mother bats with their juvenile pups to help encourage and teach our hand raised pups how to be a bat. Remember momma red and her three daughters? They have been spending quite a bit of time in our outdoor flight enclosure. This morning was quite possibly the cutest thing. The three sibling girls found each other in the big flight cage that currently has 20 big brown bats and several other red bats exercising. Momma red is found snoozing right below them in a leaf. With a wingspan of more than a meter, the grey headed flying fox is the largest fruit-eating #bat in the world.
