My first practice parts on our Milltronics cnc mill. I’m making some brass soft jaws for my Wilton vise. I’ll break these down into a few short segments covering both first and second ops. A long backlogged shop project turned into a good learning and training exercise for me. I only have basic general purpose tooling as of now so I’ll be continuing to add the proper cutters, inserts and tooling I need as we move forward. #abom79 #cnc #cncmachining #cnctraining #milltronics #brasssoftjaw #wilton

Making my first chips on the Milltronics USA, Inc. TRM 3016 mill! Started off using the Renishaw tool setter to get some tools setup in the carousel. Learning some of the basic and common milling ops like facing, side milling and pocketing. Later I went on to drilling, chamfering and tapping. I still need to stock up on a variety of end mills and cutters for different materials. I was using a new Walter 1/2” carbide mill for steel but still worked great for some learning. Packing up our drill indexes to ship out and keeping the Milltronics TRM busy making extra sets of soft jaws for the sidewinder vise. I decided since I had both work offsets already setup and plenty of stock on hand, let’s go ahead and make 4 extra sets that I can keep stored in the toolbox. #abom79 #manufacturing #milltronics #machineshop #softjaws | Abom79

Turning some 1018 cold rolled in the @milltronicsusa cnc lathe. Making a small batch of parts for the welding shop. Most rewarding seeing a good looking and accurate part come off the Cnc lathe that is exactly on target! It took a few tries to get the tools set exactly on size but we nailed it. These small pinion shafts have been some good learning for me as Steve has been working with me again on the Milltronics Cnc machines. These shafts are for a customer who enjoys the videos and could not find someone locally to help him machine a small batch of them for his Cnc routers. I’m making up a few for them to t
